Here's to 2014.

Happy new year Beach Babes! I am so excited for 2014. It's going to be a year of transformation.

As I get ready to give birth in May I kinda feel like the only thing I got for Christmas this year was fat. Yep. That's right. Nothing fits. Jeans that were big for me, I can barely get over my hips. Wahhhh!

I never knew it would be so hard to gain this much weight in such a short amount of time. As I strolled the beach in my bikini on vacation with my husband I found myself getting super self-conscious. I wanted to wear a sign that said, "there's a baby in there!" I was even checking out other girls thinking, "ah man, I used to look like that."

Well babes, I'm here to tell you that 2014 is our year. If you're not %100 confident to strut your stuff in a bikini down the beach, this summer you will be well on your way. While my real comeback won't begin until May, I'm starting my healthy eating plan now. Pregnant or not, just because I want a grilled cheese on the daily does not mean I should eat a grilled cheese on the daily.

I encourage you to join me as we transform our bodies this year through healthy eating and working out. I know many of you have made New Years resolutions to workout more and eat healthier. But the fact is that most of you will loose steam in just a few short weeks. But don't fret, follow these three quick tips to keep you on the right track:

  • Be Specific:  The more specific your goals, the easier they will be to follow. How many times a week will you workout? What is your diet going to look like? Instead of setting a goal to workout and eat healthy, set a goal to workout three days a week. Set a goal to not eat any fast food this year or to only eat sugar over the weekends.
  • Be Realistic: It takes time to see real results. Set smaller goals for yourself throughout the year. Loose 10 pounds by Valentines Day, loose 20 pounds by the first day of summer, etc. My goal this year is to be bikini ready by labor day (not memorial day) -- 3 months postpartum!
  • Set a Schedule: I've said it before and I'll say it again. I believe that the best way to stick to your plan is to set a schedule. That's one benefit of hiring a personal trainer and also of being an instructor. I have my weekly schedule and I rarely miss a class. Don't leave your workouts up to chance or convenience.

Let me help you this year. I want to be your daily inspiration to have the body you've always wanted. I know you can do it and I am here for you. Please know that I love to hear your questions and concerns and I'm available to you via email anytime! Here's to us, babes! xo
