The Ultimate Moisturizer

I recently found out that my favorite moisturizer (not mentioning any names) contains harmful ingredients that could lead to cancer. Total bummer. I'm all about making smart decisions to prevent disease so even though it's a fairly new bottle, my favorite body oil is out for good! I've recently decided that since there are far too many chemicals in almost every single lotion or body oil out there, I'm going the au naturale route. So far, I've tried moisturizing with both almond oil and coconut oil. While the almond oil has been a bit too oily for me, good ol' pure coconut oil has quickly replaced my expensive fancy oil that I used to use. And yes, it is the same one I use to cook with (separate bottles of course)! Here are just a few extra benefits of using natural oils:

  • Fatty Acids and Antioxidants: Prevent aging, reduce inflammation and promote collagen production.
  • Hypoallergenic: Soothe and hydrate irritated skin (including eczema) without irritation or allergies.
  • Non- Clogging: Natural oils are generally quite light and will not lead to breakouts.
  • Antiseptic Properties: Many natural oils, including coconut and grapeseed help to kill harmful bacteria and can even prevent infection.

I also must add that coconut oil works great for massages and other activities in the bedroom... hint, hint. For us ladies, it even helps to balance our PH levels "down there." TMI? Oh well, now you know.

Next on my list, I want to try avocado and grape seed oil. Have you tried any au naturale moisturizers? Which one has been your favorite?
