Stay Fit and Fab on Halloween

Source
Hallow Babes and a very happy halloween! I love halloween for so many different reasons. One being that the holiday season has officially started.

How are we going to maintain a healthy active lifestyle without gaining the average 7 pounds (yes, that's a real statistic) by New Years? Lord knows with a baby on the way, I'll be gaining much more than that, but even pregnant, I have to remember to take care of me and my babe throughout this tempting time... I've got such a sweet tooth!

If you're a candy queen (or king) think about how you want to kick off this holiday season. Here are a few tips to get started on the right track by having a Fit and Fab Halloween:

  • Throw Away the Left Overs. Go wild tonight but tomorrow throwout the rest of the candy. I remember as a kid saving my Halloween candy for weeks, even months... thanks but no thanks mom and dad. Feel free to indulge in your favorite candies (I'm a sucker for Reese's and Snickers Midnight) but tomorrow it's time to move on and clear out the garbage.
  • Eat a healthy dinner:  Just because you're eating a bunch of crappy stuff, doesn't mean you shouldn't eat a bunch of healthy stuff. In fact, you should eat an even healthier meal than normal to combat all the junk. Think raw, fresh veggies and protein like a large salad with grilled wild salmon... yum! If you're heading out of the house, it's even more important to feed yourself (and your kids) a nutritious meal.
  • Carve a Pumpkin and Roast the Seeds. Pumpkin seeds are one of the few holiday treats that are tasty and good for you. All you have to do is rinse the seeds from your pumpkin, place them on a baking tray with a little salt and olive oil and bake on 400 degrees for about 10-15 minutes. Delicious and nutritious!
  • Workout today & tomorrow. Did you work out a little extra the last couple of weeks to look even better in your costume this year? Don't loose that momentum! Break a sweat tomorrow to release some of those toxins from all the treats. Lucky for you, I'll be posting a brand spankin' new Beach Babe video :)
I hope everyone has a happy, healthy and safe halloween. It's exciting to think that next year I'll have a 6 month old baby to dress up! xo
