Keep Looking

In a recent interview, I was asked " What's your favorite workout?" It's an easy answer for me. My favorite workout is the one where I am having the most fun. For me, if I'm not having fun in my workout, I'm just not going to do it. Have you found your perfect workout yet?

We are 40 days into the New Year. If you're not enjoying your workout it's time to try something new. And by "enjoying" I mean you look forward to it every. single. day. That's actually how I started teaching. I was taking barre classes at a studio in LA and when I moved back to Orange County there were no barre classes around. I was so passionate about my favorite class that I started teaching some of the very first barre classes offered in Orange County. My life forever changed because of it. If I had never taken that first class, I don't think I'd be in the fitness industry today. 

I challenge you to find a workout that you absolutely love. Whether it be the music, the instructor, the exercises, the challenge, find something that makes you go "ah ha! This is amazing!" Fitness won't feel like a chore or a task anymore and you'll be glad you stepped out of your comfort zone.

Here are 3 super fun class suggestions that you may or may not have heard of. Look them up in your area and see if they are being offered anywhere nearby! You might just change your life. 
  • Barre: This was my obvious choice. Luckily, barre classes are now being offered in most gyms. If you want to try something different and challenging that will change your body quickly, this is the exercise for you. There are a lot of different types of barre classes and I recommend one at a faster pace than the popular Bar Method or Pure Barre… just my personal opinion!
  • Piloxing: When I got certified and taught this amazing class for a few months, my arms were never so lean and toned. I look forward to start teaching it again after the baby's born (more on that later).  It's super high energy, calorie burning dance/boxing party where you will sweat your ass off (literally). 
  • Buti: Buti is like a sexy, fun, yoga class. It's a let loose, tone up, just go for it type of class that will burn, tone and shake your buti right into shape. A lot of fun and they have online classes so you don't even have to leave your own home. Perfect.
