Hit the Re-Set Button

Today I hit the re-set button. Re-set on my diet, re-set on my workouts, re-set on my blogging habits (you know you've missed me!). In case you didn't get the memo yet, summer is pretty much here. Which means, not only is it time to pull out the sleeveless tops and flirty dresses, but it's time to bare that beach babe bikini body.

Right now, I'm not feeling like the "Beach Babe" I claim to be.

It feels like I just emerged from the holidays...no not Memorial Day, but you know, that period from Halloween to New Years where all your healthy habits go out the window? Yep. That's me right now. But not today. Oh no, today I've hit the re-set button.

See, my husbands birthday was in March, I'm in April and my baby boy turned one last week (how did that happen?!). I've rolled right from one birthday cake to the next and have indulged in my fair share of morning bagels & cream cheese, homemade quesadillas with extra butter, wine, wine and more wine, and well, you get the point.

Never mind all of that because like I said, today I've hit the re-set button. This morning I went on a jog (gasp!). If you know me at all, I love to exercise but the last time I went for a jog was probably for a mandatory PE class. Literally. But I got a new jogging stroller and if you're a mom you know that getting a new stroller is basically the same (if not better) than getting a new designer handbag. It's pretty great. I was so motivated I ran 2.5 miles with my handsome hubs... and he said he felt like it was Christmas having me go with him. Like I said, I don't jog.

But that's not all. I've eliminated processed sugar and breads from my diet. And I'm also making my daily green smoothie which has slowly erased itself from my healthy morning routine.

Isn't it frightening how after just a few too many days of indulgence, our healthy habits can get consumed by unhealthy ones?

I look at my diet and my activity level a couple of months ago compared to yesterday (not today) and it's like I'm a completely different person. It just creeps up on us until... We hit the re-set button.

I've had to do this several times throughout my life and I'm sure I'll have to do it many more times. It's not a diet, it's not a cleanse or a detox, but it's stopping a downward spiral that's led me to poor dietary habits and a lack of motivation... which is basically a package deal.

So, I'm getting back to my Beach Babe body just in time for summer. I'm shaking things up and jogging again tomorrow. I may even post a pic on Insta as proof (and of course to show off my new stroller)!

Just one question for you, when's the last time you hit the re-set button? xx
