So You Want a Body Like Beyonce's?

Ummm. Let's talk about the Grammy's on Sunday. And by Grammy's, I mean Beyonce. OMG Beyonce. Seriously from that bangin' body and super sexy performance to that white ensemble? Who cares if I don't even like her new album? She is amazing.

We all know Ms. Knowles hasn't always been so svelte, so how exactly did B get that bey-utiful body?
I've done a bit of research and I'm dishing the dirt. Here's the low down on how to get your body looking like Beyonce's:

  • Cardio Dance Classes: Want that weight to come off quickly without having to go for a run or hit the treadmill? Have a little fun in a cardio dance class (like Zumba). My favorite dance classes are at Rock It Workouts and boy oh boy are they an awesome workout. Even though I'm sweaty and exhausted, I'm having so much fun dancing I just can't stop. It doesn't hurt when you mix in a little "Crazy in Love" and channel your inner diva. Don't want to leave the house? Mix up an hour of your favorite songs and dance (naked?) in front of the mirror to burn upwards of 500 calories.
  • High Intensity Interval Training: While cardio will help to shed some of that excess body fat, interval training is key to getting Beyonce's toned physique while building endurance for those performances. I've said it before and I'll say it again, a pear shape will always be a pear shape unless you do some resistance training! I've posted more about the benefits of HIIT training here and I've also posted some great full body workouts like this one.
  • Core Work: So, you wanna do some sexy moves on a chair like B? Believe it or not, that sultry seat number requires a ton of core strength… it's not as easy as it looks! Always incorporate core work into your workouts by holding a plank, etc... and check out this video to really target the midsection.
  • Vegan Diet: Despite what you may think (paleo, anyone?), the healthiest way to loose weight is by upping your vegetable intake. Beyonce's trainer encourages her to eat one vegan meal a day (that means no meat, dairy, or eggs) and before her big night, she went on a 22 day vegan challenge. I must admit, I followed a strict vegan diet for about 3 months last year (before I gave in to cheese) and looking back, I was never more svelte. I now have reincorporated animal products, but I do like to keep it vegan for at least one meal a day. It's really not as hard as you may think. Eating a diet composed of mostly fruits and vegetables eliminates all the extra toxin buildup including things like cellulite!

Beyonce has clearly worked hard for her post baby body and it's certainly paid off. Good news for you: You have the same amount of hours in a day as Beyonce.

Now, if you're one of those who thinks maybe she was a little too risqué, lets get one thing straight, when you've got it, flaunt it.  And when you're performing with your husband, you have every right to get a little down and dirty with him… pretty sure there's another baby on the way for them. Cheers to Beyoncé.
